Characteristics of patients who underwent bariatric surgery and did not participate in a supervised post-operative exercise program

Learning objectives:

  • Describe the characteristics of adults living with obesity who declined a supervised exercise program after bariatric surgery
  • Explore the main reasons for non-participation to a supervised exercise program
  • Combine quantitative and qualitative data to provide a more comprehensive understanding of nonparticipatio

Elizabeth Ricard is born and raised in Sherbrooke, Quebec. She graduated from Université Laval’s medical school in 2024. She is currently back home in Université de Sherbrooke completing her second year of general surgery residency. Her research interests include bariatric surgery and breast oncoplastic surgery. As a retired basketball player who likes new challenges, when Dre Ricard is not at the hospital, she can be seen swimming, cycling or running in preparation of Mont Tremblant’s Ironman 70.3 coming in June. She also loves cats.
