Karanbir Brar is a PGY3 general surgery resident at the University of Toronto. During training, he completed a MSc in the genomic landscape of esophageal adenocarcinoma. His current research interests include assessments of safety and efficacy of bariatric surgical procedures, as well as the applications of machine learning to MIS and bariatric surgery. He is strongly interested in pursing a minimally invasive surgery perspective and metabolic and bariatric surgery as a career, and is looking forward to learning more about the current and future of bariatric surgery in Canada at CABPS 2026.
Sécurité et efficacité à court terme de la chirurgie métabolique et bariatrique assistée par robot chez les adolescents : une analyse de la base de données MBSAQIP

Karanbir Brar est résident en chirurgie générale PGY3 à l’Université de Toronto. Au cours de sa formation, il a complété une maîtrise dans le paysage génomique de l’adénocarcinome oesophagien. Ses intérêts de recherche actuels comprennent l’évaluation de la sécurité et de l’efficacité des interventions chirurgicales bariatriques, ainsi que les applications de l’apprentissage automatique aux SIM et à la chirurgie bariatrique. Il est fortement intéressé à poursuivre une perspective de chirurgie mini-invasive et de chirurgie métabolique et bariatrique en tant que carrière, et a hâte d’en apprendre davantage sur le présent et l’avenir de la chirurgie bariatrique au Canada à CABPS 2026.
