- To provide a practical overview of the role for hybrid closed-loop insulin pumps for patients with Type 1 DM undergoing bariatric surgery
- To review several case examples from a single surgical centre
- To review practical pearls to consider in these cases

Dr. Heidi Dutton MD FRCPC MSc Dip ABOM & ABLM
Dr Dutton is an endocrinologist at The Ottawa Hospital in the Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism, and is an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa. After residency, she completed a clinical and research fellowship in Bariatric Medicine, as well as a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Epidemiology, both at the University of Ottawa. The focus of her practice is in the areas of weight management, bariatric medicine as well as diabetes in pregnancy. Dr Dutton has certifications from American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) certification and the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine (ABLM).
