Dr. Chapelsky completed medical school at the University of Calgary and general internal medicine training at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Chapelsky is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta, and has Advanced Obesity Counselling Certification from Obesity Canada. Based in Edmonton, she practices obesity medicine full-time. She is the founding Medical Director of an intensive weight management program at Enhance Medical, and she practiced at the Edmonton Adult Bariatric Surgical Clinic (formerly Weight Wise) from 2015 to 2022. Currently, Dr. Chapelsky has a community-based obesity practice at C-endo, and she is the Director of the Women’s Preoperative Weight Loss Clinic at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Dr. Marie-Philippe Morin is a Specialist in General Internal Medicine and Bariatric Medicine at the Quebec Heart and Lung Institute. She is also a researcher in obesity and cardiometabolic risk factors at the same institute. In addition, Dr. Morin holds the position of Assistant Professor at Laval University and serves as the Chief of the Internal Medicine Division and the Medical Director of the Bariatric Medicine Clinic at the Quebec Heart and Lung Institute.
Dr. Morin completed her Doctorate in Medicine and residency in General Internal Medicine at Laval University. In 2016, she pursued a one-year fellowship in Bariatric Medicine at the Ottawa Hospital Bariatric Centre of Excellence and the LEAF Weight Management Clinic through the University of Ottawa. In 2018, she earned a diploma from the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
She is a contributing author to the 2020 Canadian Obesity Guidelines and co-chairs the Bariatric Medicine and Surgery Committee of the Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec.

Dre Marie-Philippe Morin travaille en tant que spécialiste en médecine interne générale et en médecine bariatrique et chef de la division de médecine interne à l’Institut de cardiologie et de pneumologie du Québec. Elle est également chercheuse dans le domaine de l’obésité et des facteurs de risque cardiométaboliques affiliée à cet Institut et professeure adjointe affiliée à l’Université Laval. Elle a complété son doctorat en médecine et sa résidence en médecine interne générale à l’Université Laval. En 2016, elle a obtenu une bourse de recherche d’un an en médecine bariatrique de l’Université d’Ottawa au Centre d’excellence en bariatrie de l’Hôpital d’Ottawa et à la Clinique de gestion du poids du FAEJ. En 2018, elle a également obtenu un diplôme de l’American Board of Obesity Medicine. En plus d’être conférencière à de nombreuses conférences sur l’obésité, Dre Morin est coprésidente de l’Association canadienne des médecins et chirurgiens bariatriques et l’une des auteures des lignes directrices canadiennes sur l’obésité de 2020. Elle est également coprésidente du comité bariatrique du ministère de la Santé du Québec.
