Canadian Obesity Weekend is the Annual Conference of the Canadian Association of Bariatric Physicians and Surgeons (CABPS)

This Bariatric Conference will attract over 300 bariatric clinicians, researchers and trainees and will include various symposia targeting professionals with a strong interest in the treatment of obesity. Distinguished Service Award

The CABPS Distinguished Service Award is given in honour of a bariatrician dedicated to the care of those living with obesity in Canada. The award recognizes a bariatrician's outstanding contributions to the practice of Bariatric medicine in patient care, research, and education.

Dr. David C. W. Lau Lectureship

The David C. W. Lau Lectureship is given in recognition of merit in (i) teaching and providing inspiration to students and colleagues; (ii) providing leadership through scientific publications and participation in professional associations, which result in significant progress in the field of endocrinology and obesity; and (iii) supporting the long-term development of outstanding programs related to obesity and the treatment of obesity.

The Award of Merit is given to an Allied Health Professional who has demonstrated exceptional expertise in the management of people living with obesity in Canada, and who has excelled in research, service development, and education, particularly among other healthcare professionals.
